All captains boats are built for safety, a smooth ride and afford great comfort when cruising the bays! Sunny spring and summer days are great on the water, but occasionally Texas weather along the Gulf Coast can be a little unpredictable. In the fall and winter months, a light jacket or coat may be in order for your particular day on the water so dress accordingly.
WE FISH ALL YEAR LONG AND OFFER FULL-DAY AND 1/2 DAY TRIPS – SEE RATES BELOW:
Helping customers – beginners to advance – catch beautiful Redfish (Trout, Drum and Flounder too) is our primary goal. These seasoned veterans of the bay systems are on the water every day taking people just like you out for a great day of fishing! This means, they always know where the fish are. Schools of fish will move around the bays and knowing where they are on any given day is the job of competent guiding. Our captains love to teach folks and are happy to share their knowledge and skills, techniques and strategies with all who come aboard! They make your day on the water, a totally memorable experience!!

ABOUT YOUR TRIP:
Live bait is either purchased or caught prior to your trip departure. All Redfish Charter Captains prefer to catch fresh bait on the morning of your trip. Sometimes this can take a bit but makes for a much better catch as the bait is fresh and much more lively (versus bait that is exhausted and beat-up from being in vats overnight at a bait stand.)
State law requires that you have a valid fishing license with a saltwater stamp. You must have this license before boarding the boat; available at Walmart, HEB, many corner/convenience stores, and local tackle shops.

REDFISH CHARTERS SUPPLIES THE FOLLOWING – EVERY THING YOU NEED TO FISH SUCCESSFULLY!!
All rods and reels are furnished or you can bring your own – but do let your captain know when you call to reserve please. He also has adult and children’s life vests, but some children may be more comfortable in their own USCG approved vest – and we want those kiddos happy and comfortable!! If you want to wade fish, you do need to bring your own rod, reel and wading equipment. (Captain’s Law: All kids 14 years of age and under must wear a life jacket when the motor is running – no exceptions.)
Beginners don’t always know exactly where or how to cast and your captain will teach you how to do it – and at the end of the trip, you’ll be great at it! If you like, the captain can cast the bait for you and then turn the rod and reel back to you for “setting the hook and bringing the fish into the boat”! Occasionally, customers like to experience a deck hand job, so if you’d like to pull-in or toss-over the anchor, just ask! It’s heavy but many get a kick out of that! We want your experience to be the best possible and we do our best to accommodate those kind of wishes and requests!
